“We’re not here with answers.
We’re here with each other.”

Student. Creator. Athlete. Podcast Host.

THE MISSION
Lived Words is a youth-led podcast exploring mental health, identity, and meaning through honest conversations, so none of us have to figure it out alone.
Often, we look back on success once the story is finished.
Lived Words begins in the middle; moments where purpose is still forming, where growth and uncertainty coexist, and where healing is still being lived, not recalled. Through authentic, thoughtful conversations, Lived Words captures the heartbeat of becoming: the fragile, beautiful moments when we’re still figuring it out.

ABOUT YUVAN

I don’t have the answers, I’m living the questions.
I’m no different than you.
Academics came easy, maybe too easy. But connections didn’t.
I sat on the bus rides alone. I walked to the school dance, alone.
And when I met interesting people, I wondered why they would
want to chat with me.
Basketball is my passion.
But it wasn’t effortless. I fought for four years just to earn my spot
at my post-grad program at Golden State Prep in Napa, California.
Sleeping and eating aren’t simple for me either.
I struggle to fall asleep, and I have a biomechanical issue that makes
chewing and eating a challenge.
(It sounds small but it shapes my whole day.)
And like so many of us, I’m trying to find my way through the noise,
growing up grounded yet independent,
honoring my heritage while bridging cultures,
and choosing values over validation.
It doesn’t always feel possible.
Most days, it feels like work.
So I reach out.
I experiment. To learn. Not to forget.
I try new things … like finding wild spicy concoctions at a mocktail
bar just to push myself outside the usual box.
I work at it, one conversation at a time.
This podcast is part of that journey.
Thank you for being part of it with me.
